Open shelves

One of my most favorite details of the kitchen is the open shelves.  The top and the middle shelves are used mostly for display.  The bottom shelf houses our everyday dishes.  It is very handy to have them right there above the table.

Accents

I have added a few black accents around the house.  I am liking it!  I love the new trend of mixing different pieces of silver, gold and black.

One more of the porch

This little shelf sits by the back door.  Love the "Bienvenue" (Welcome) sign that I got from a sweet little shop in Augusta called "The Nest."

Porch

I have been trying to get the collections on the porch just right.  I have a bird and  nature theme going on.

I love the back porch.  It is a great place to sit (when the boys will allow it!) and enjoy the courtyard.

Fall Decorating

We did some fall decorating here this weekend.  The air is cooler and autumn has definitely arrived in the Ohio valley.

Fun Weekend

We had a great time at the pumpkin farm yesterday.  We went on a hayride, saw lots of farm animals, played on cool playground equipment and had a nice lunch.  Today we went to a local fall festival which featured crafters, food, etc. When we arrived home Morgan wanted to put up the fall decorations.  We painted some pumpkins, brought the old scarecrow up from the basement and plugged in our light up pumpkin on the porch.  It was a busy weekend!

Fall

I love the first signs of fall--coolness in the air, leaves falling down, pumpkins at the roadside stands.
To celebrate the changing of the seasons, we are on our way to the pumpkin farm tomorrow!  I think I am as excited as my two small boys!
