Spring accents

I recently completed a couple of spring projects that I had been planning for awhile. One being a stone pot for plants that sits on the buffet. I painted the pot with texture paint and plan on changing up the contents based on the season.  I am happy with how it turned out! I also made a wreath with a sweet little nest :) I have never really sewn anything, but managed to get the ruffles together.  I am liking it!

New Additions

I have been wanting a mirror for the dining room for a while now.  I had a beveled, beaded one in mind, but while shopping at Home Goods, found this beauty.  It has the beveled edge that I wanted and a carved frame. I love it!

I also added some green things to our mantel in celebration of March and the coming spring.

This pillow definitely says spring!  I happened on it while shopping at Big Lots. It is part of the Jessica McClintock line they have now.

I added a couple of ruffled pillows on each end of the sofa. I found them at Kohl's. They are so soft and were on sale!

Valentine's Day

We made a few simple decorations for Valentine's day.  I cut small hearts out of quilted material, added strings for hanging and was done! Super easy and cute!

The heart on the mantel was made using a paper heart form and coffee filters.  I added a lace ribbon for hanging at the top. I love, love, love it!

Better late than never....

Here are a few Christmas pictures.   I tried to keep it really simple and used a lot of natural elements.

Open shelves

One of my most favorite details of the kitchen is the open shelves.  The top and the middle shelves are used mostly for display.  The bottom shelf houses our everyday dishes.  It is very handy to have them right there above the table.

Accents

I have added a few black accents around the house.  I am liking it!  I love the new trend of mixing different pieces of silver, gold and black.

One more of the porch

This little shelf sits by the back door.  Love the "Bienvenue" (Welcome) sign that I got from a sweet little shop in Augusta called "The Nest."
